About Me

Hi! My name is Jacob Marciniec (mar·cheen·yets).

I'm an astronaut and professional sushi chef.

Just kidding, I've never made sushi before.

Alright, I've never been to space, either.

But here are some things that are actually true about me:

I was born on November 26th, 1995 in the USA to two Polish immigrant parents. I was the second person in my family to be born in the USA (my cousin Paul beat me by about a year).

I consider myself the luckiest person alive.

I believe I was born in the greatest time to be on Earth. Not only that, but I was born in a free country with a strong economy and into a middle-class family... read: nobody can stop me from becoming successful except for myself.

How the hell could I possibly complain about a single thing? I believe my life is perfect and I never want to die.

Speaking of death: I believe I am going to become a successful businessman before I die, so I'm documenting my life through my blog, videos and social media. I'm doing this so that I can be historically accurate and people can use data from my life for their own benefit.

What I Do Now

Here are the biggest things I'm working on right now, in order of priority.

  • I help native Polish speakers learn English quickly.

Hire me to help you with your English
  • I build websites for small businesses.

Hire me to build you a website
  • I explore space.

I study space technologies with the ultimate goal of making humankind better utilize the resources outside Earth. Read more about the Jacob Space Program.

  • I'm becoming a real estate agent.

I'm studying to become a licensed real estate agent and work alongside the best agents and brokers in Southern California.

  • I build my wealth.

I'm building a large net worth so that I can leverage it to advance my primary life goals. I consider myself a passive investor. I consider my strategy to be long-term and high-risk. My plan is to basically reinvest everything and never take any profits. For the time being I buy and hold primarily speculative individual stocks (my favorites right now are TSLA and NFLX) with a small portion of my portfolio in "safe" basket funds (VGT and BRK'B). In the near future I plan on buying and holding cash-flow positive 1-4 unit residential real estate.

My Biggest Goals

Here are the biggest things I'm trying to achieve, in my life.

  • To help people through random acts of kindness.

Generally I like helping people without getting anything in return. I want to spread love and kindness to everyone I meet.

I have no grand plan on how to do this. Maybe some major event in my life will trigger me to devote a lot of my energy to a single humanitarian cause... but at this time I just rely on serendipity to show me small ways in which I can help other human beings, whether it's donating a few bucks to a charity that catches my attention or just lending a stranger my phone because theirs is out of battery.

  • To contribute to the longevity of humankind.

I feel guilty for the extremely fortunate circumstances into which I was born and the comfortable life I am able to live. I feel it would be irresponsible of me not to take advantage of the endless "bucket" of opportunity I have given to make the whole world a better place.

Again: I have no master plan here, either. Space exploration and renewable energy have fascinated me since I was a child. I would be stoked to create a business which genuinely advances the quality of life and/or the capabilities of humans worldwide, even in a very small way.

Quick Facts About Me

One Of The Most Important Things You Should Know About Me

I'm long-term thinker. Before I make a decision I usually ask myself

  • "what value will doing this right now bring me in 40 years?" or
  • "will this lead to something that will have a great positive effect on my life 40 years from now?" or
  • "is there a good reason my great grand kids should be proud of me for doing this?" or
  • "will this or something that this leads to cause more people to come to my funeral?"

(by the way, so that it is officially in writing: if I don't live forever, I want my funeral to be a happy occasion, a celebration with alcohol and partying and an opportunity for lots of good people to meet each other and network).

Some Of My Favorite People

I love people that are realistic, self-aware, passionate and have a sense of humor. Here are a few of my favorite people:

The Long Version...

A summary of my whole life.

Early life

I did good in school (I'll add a picture of my transcript soon), but I hated it. I dropped out of high school 1 year before graduation and have since then worked a lot of odd jobs (usually for little or no money), which include (among others):

  • CNC machine operator/part quality controller
  • Working student at 2 professional hunter/jumper horse training farms
  • Working student at a world-class fox hunting farm
  • Veterinary assistant to an equine veterinarian
  • Porter at a Lexus dealership
  • Salesperson at a flea market booth
  • Salesperson at an H&M
  • Kitchen worker at a McDonald's
  • Junior web developer at an internet marketing company
  • English tutor for native Polish speakers

I've been fired from or quit all of those jobs for various reasons (except for from English tutoring... I'm still doing that).

Besides those jobs, I've always been deeply interested in business and making money for myself. As a young boy, I put up lemonade stands, walked my neighbors' dogs, mowed lawns, washed cars, shoveled snow, bought and sold candy bars — I did anything I could to make money. I dropped out of high school the first chance I got because I felt it wasn't teaching me anything about the real world of making or managing money and it game me no value for making more money in the future in the way I wanted to make it.

Besides money, I've also always loved cameras and making videos/taking pictures. I especially love videos because of how quickly and effectively they can communicate ideas and inspire people to feel and do things.

I believe that effective communication is one of the greatest skills that anyone can have, and especially in the day and age I grew up in: video is an extremely powerful medium for reaching and communicating with very large and/or targeted audiences (thanks to platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, etc.)
